About the Role

Job Summary:
As a Junior Financial Analyst within our Solar Project Development team, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial and energy analysis efforts of our organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Solar Project Development – Financial and Energy Analysis, you will assist in various financial modeling, analysis, and reporting activities related to solar energy projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to develop their financial analysis skills in the renewable energy sector and contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Modeling: Collaborate with senior team members to develop and maintain financial models for solar energy projects, including revenue projections, cost estimations, cash flow analysis, and return on investment calculations.
2. Data Analysis: Conduct thorough data analysis using various financial and statistical techniques to evaluate project feasibility, identify key performance indicators, and assess potential risks and opportunities.
3. Market Research: Assist in conducting market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify emerging trends and opportunities in the solar energy industry.
4. Report Generation: Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate financial analysis findings, project progress, and performance metrics to internal stakeholders, clients, and investors.
5. Financial Planning and Forecasting: Support the development of financial plans and forecasts for solar projects, including budgeting, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis, to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project development, engineering, and finance teams, to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment of financial analysis with project objectives and strategies.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the renewable energy sector, and proactively recommend process improvements and enhancements to optimize financial analysis workflows.

Requirements

Successful Candidates will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CFP) is a plus.

  • 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, consulting, or related field, preferably within the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and quantitative analysis techniques.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial modeling software/tools.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts and analysis findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
