Lighting Project Auditor

About the Role

As a Lighting Project Auditor, you will be responsible for documenting existing conditions as it relates to lighting, lighting controls, and general electrical systems. The Lighting Project Auditor is held accountable for proper documentation, survey accuracy, and overall quality. Once the information has been gathered for a client’s site, you will work with our operations team to develop a lighting retrofit solution based on the field data you have gathered. Over time, your role may expand to more project development work with increased responsibilities, with ample opportunity for advancement and promotion!

We are seeking candidates with experience in the lighting industry who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.

The ideal candidate should have significant experience in lighting systems of industrial and warehouse buildings. Specific in experience in lighting retrofit projects is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Effectively walk buildings or campuses gathering data on customer’s existing lighting system

- Read and check lighting specifications.

- Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing audit results using provided templates.

- Provide accurate and timely audits to team members.

- Create lighting layouts and savings calculations.

- Support pre-construction activities for projects.

- Support with coordination of all equipment procurement for projects (product specification, delivery & storage, purchase orders).

- Manage conceptual and detailed design and bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for lighting projects.

- Support technical work with vendors and installation contractors (as appropriate through Pre- Construction) for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed project modifications.

- Manage all utility communication i.e., rebate applications, engineering coordination, on-site support as required.

Requirements

Successful Candidates Will Have:

- Significant experience in lighting systems, especially within industrial and warehouse buildings.

- Specific expertise in lighting retrofit projects.

- The capacity to read and interpret lighting specifications.

- Proficiency in creating lighting layouts and conducting savings calculations.

- A minimum of five years in lighting retrofit or auditing.

- At least three years of experience in savings calculations, site visits, and related fieldwork.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Ability to work independently and multitask.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

- Mastery in managing multiple priorities and relationships.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Lighting Design Software experience is a significant advantage.


Required Education or Certification:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science discipline, emphasizing Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

- Specialization in Energy Efficiency and/or Renewable Technology is preferred.


Travel Requirements:

- This position travels nationwide, up to 70% of the time, to jobsites to perform audits.
